Cleopatra's Needles
In Ancient Alexandria, two obelisks stood in front of the Caesareum that are now known as Cleopatra's needles. They were tall, pointed, granite pillars that were brought from an ancient Egyptian temple. They were put in front of the Caesareum by a Roman Engineer in the year 13 BCE. In the 19th Century, one of the obelisks was moved to London, and the other to New York.
